Restoring Harmony is a 2 year project that aims to build strong links between community members and young people with a focus on minimising graffiti harm in the local areas of Blue Haven, San Remo, Budgewoi, Toukley and Gorokan. The project is looking at different strategies to engage people in caring for the areas where they live and working towards developing safer and friendlier communities
Over the past year the project's coordinator Emma has connected with people of all ages and walks of life with the goal of preventing graffiti harm in the area. The photo on the left is of Emma (bottom left of photo) with a group of volunteers from the statewide, Graffit Action Day's community clean up happening in an alleyway behind the shops in Budgewoi.
One of the methods used to stop graffiti is Yarnstorming, putting colourful yarn around objects attacked by vandals for example trees and power poles.
